Finance & Taxation Compliance The Finance Department, Govt. of Assam on August 17, 2026, issued the amendment to the Assam Value Added Tax Act, 2003.

In the principal Act, in the Fourth Schedule, for serial number 6 with entries thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely: -

6. (i) Natural Gas when used as Compressed Natural Gas

5" (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG)

This shall come into force from August 24, 2026.
